What I particularly appreciated is that this is a historic hotel where you can truly feel the atmosphere of another era. However, unlike many historic hotels where “old-world charm” can sometimes mean worn-out furniture, tired fabrics, or rooms that simply feel old, Avenida Palace has managed to preserve its character while providing a very high level of modern comfort.
Our room was spotlessly clean and beautifully maintained. Everything felt fresh and comfortable: soft, clean towels, bathrobes, slippers, and all the amenities you would expect from a high-quality hotel. The housekeeping service was exceptional — the room was serviced both during the day and again in the evening as part of the turndown service, with little chocolates waiting for us at night. These small details really make a difference.
The staff were consistently warm, attentive and professional. It is clear that the management pays great attention to detail and has created a very high standard of service throughout the hotel. We also loved the atmosphere: the hotel is elegant, peaceful and quiet, without the usual hustle and noise you sometimes find in large city hotels. Even at breakfast, the atmosphere was calm and pleasant.

The location of the Hotel is exceptional to what we want to see in Lisbon each year.
The interior of the hotel and the rooms is spectacularly maintained, and staff is extremely helpful - specila note to the over night concierge Jaoa - our good friend from 20 years ago, and to Paulo for assisting in transportation The room 518/519 bedroom was not too sound proof and the first night we could hear someone's TV at late night hours. Minor inconvenience
