We will be back!
I decided to surprise my wife for her 40th bday and booked one of the Raincross rooms. We have both lived near Riverside our entire lives but never taken advantage of this option.
Shortly after booking I stumbled across some of the negative reviews and became worried. However, we had a fantastic experience that did not reflect any of that negative feedback!
We showed up about 11am for a spa treatment I had booked for my wife and the hotel already had a room available for us which came with a sigh of relief! Our "Raincross Room" was on the 3rd floor and was accessible via a beautiful outdoor walkway that overlooked the pool and front courtyard. This walkway offered chairs and potted floral arrangements that gave us a feel of having a large beautiful patio to enjoy, which we glady utilized that night prior to turning in.
The room was light, had a king bed, and a small but beautiful bathroom. The air conditioner had no issues keeping us cold during a 100 degree July day In Riverside ca. Keep in mind that this is a historical property so it lacks modern decor, however we knew this going in to the visit so it wasn't a concern. The old room did have the aroma of old wood which again we anticipated, however I can see it as being a potential issue for someone with sensitive allergies.

Great and Helpful Staff, Nice Spacious Room. The staff at this hotel were so helpful and friendly. My daughter got sick in my rental car and the late night front desk staff helped me by getting dish soap to clean up the mess. Unfortunately, the smell persisted in the morning. The house keeping supervisor mixed up a bottle of vinegar and water to help eliminate the smell.
Also, we had a very loud upstairs neighbor who sounded like they were running laps and jumping up and down. Even with ear plugs and white noise the shock of them jumping woke me up. I called down to the front desk and security went up and talked to them. Thankfully they stopped.
The room was spacious and clean. I would stay there again, but maybe ask for a top floor room to avoid the sound from other guests running!

It was OK. The overnight parking fees with a reservation is crazy. I really had high hopes for this place! Only ONE working elevator. Top floor was really hot, had the key to a room that was already occupied, PAYED EXTRA for overnight PARKING, WiFi wasn’t great and even though it was in 90 degrees outside the pool water was FREEZING!!!
